Benefits cheat ‘fled to Spain’
AN international arrest warrant has been issued for a widow who fraudulently claimed thousands of pounds in benefits.
Mother of two Dawn Orton, 47, from Cottingham, East Yorkshire, falsely claimed £29,000 by failing to declare she had been living with a man for more than 13 years.
Orton, who is thought to have fled to Spain, was convicted in her absence by a jury at Hull Crown Court and sentenced to 12 months in jail.
