Bid to cut bike thefts in town

POLICE are stepping up their battle against cycle thieves after a spate of offences in a Yorkshire town.

North Yorkshire Police officers are staging events in Harrogate to get cycles security marked for free in the hope of combating thieves operating in the town.

The first event is on Saturday, March 23, at the police station on Victoria Avenue from 10am to 3pm. A second event will be held the following day at Sainsbury’s on Wetherby Road from 10am to 3pm.
