Biker hurt as tractor crash closes main Dales road

A BIKER was seriously injured this morning in a tractor accident which has closed the main road through the Yorkshire Dales.

The accident happened on the A65 at Austwick, between Settle and Ingleton.

Police said a motorcycle and a tractor pulling a trailer were involved. The male rider of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

The A65 is closed both ways between Graystonber Lane and Orcaber Lane. Diversions are in place but long delays are expected on the road, which carries traffic to the Dales and Lake District.

Police have not yet said when the road will reopen.
