Body found on Yorkshire allotment

Officers were called to the scene at around 5.20pm on Thursday night when a fire was reported.

The plot, in Long Lane, Oxspring, near Penistone, South Yorkshire, was sealed off to allow fire investigation officers and scenes of crime officers to examine the scene.

Last night a South Yorkshire Police spokesman said it was not yet clear if the dead person was male or female, or whether the death was suspicious.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about what had happened to call 0114 220 2020 and quote incident number 724 for May 19.
