Body of missingman found in river

The body of a man who went missing on Christmas Day has been found in a river.

Alan Tennant, 25, was last seen in the early hours of December 25 as he was leaving Chesterfield town centre to return home to the nearby village of Clowne. His body was recovered from the River Rother on Saturday, Derbyshire Police said. A force spokesman described it as a “tragic incident” that the force was not treating as suspicious. An investigation is being carried out on behalf of the coroner
