Boy, 14, admits sex assaults near university

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court to five counts of sexual assault.

Police initially thought they might be looking for an offender as young as 12 when they launched their appeal last weekend.

The charges relate to five reports of sexual assault on five different women, including three who claimed they were sexually assaulted near the University of Manchester between September 21 and October 5.

The boy was given conditional bail and the case was adjourned until December 2.
