The victim suffered serious chest, leg and back injuries and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

The vehicle remains outstanding and was last seen driving towards Broadstone Way.

Detective Inspector Andy Howard, of Bradford District CID, said: “Our initial enquiries suggest that the victim has been struck by his own vehicle as he has attempted to stop the thieves from driving away.

“This is a distinctive vehicle which has a chrome bar on the front and I would ask for anyone who may have seen this vehicle since 4.15am today to contact Bradford District CID on 101, quoting log 119 of 12 April, or to report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
