Brave Matthew’s family launches cancer charity

THE family of teenage cancer sufferer Matthew Willey are launching a charity in his name to bring comfort to other young people with the disease.

Matthew, 15, was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer last year and had to have part of his leg removed. He is now having weekly treatment at Leeds General Infirmary.

Money raised by the new charity, which is provisionally being called The Matthew Willey Charity, will be used to buy computers which will then be given to young people on Ward 78 at LGI.

Mr Willey said his son had finished his main course of high dose chemotherapy a week before Christmas and was “doing very well”.
