Businesses hopedto reap benefits

Bradford beat the likes of Venice and Los Angeles to be awarded the title of City of Film by Unesco, the United Nations' cultural arm – for locally-made films and the National Media Museum, with businesses hoping that the title would bring economic benefits.

Peg Alexander, City of Film Director, said: “To get the tag, you have to prove under your theme that you have a history of activity, an infrastructure that supports activity, you’re doing things around that area and you will use that to help develop the future of your city.”
