Call to take on Six Peak challenge

BANK worker Will Shaw has raised hundreds of pounds for charity after running almost 50 miles in a day by completing Yorkshire’s Three Peak challenge twice.

Mr Shaw, 33, of Rodley, Leeds, did two loops of the famous walk in 11 hours 55 minutes, which is about the time most walkers take for just one circuit.

So far he has raised £850 towards a target of £1,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research in
memory of his sister Beccy who died, aged 10, from leukaemia in 1984.

After the run, Mr Shaw admitted he felt shattered and said that his left calf was “painful and very tight”.

Initially he vowed to never tackle two loops again, but yesterday he was considering another crack at it next year.

He now wants to hear from anyone who would consider helping to establish an annual “Six
Peak” challenge in the Yorkshire Dales.

“It would be a quirky alternative to the Three Peaks,” he said.

“Possibly, if there are some interested parties, I will do it
again,” he added.
