Cancer charity set to benefit from saucy calendar's barefaced cheek

IT IS certainly a way of brightening up the most mundane of household chores.

A group of Harrogate women has decided to bare all while performing daily household jobs for a series of cheeky shots in a charity calendar to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The 13 friends came together for the fundraising drive after Harrogate-born teenager Danny Harris, who was treated at Leeds General Infirmary, lost his four-year battle with cancer last month.

The 14-year-old's cousin, Amy Kirkpatrick, organised the saucy photo shoot and the calendar will be unveiled this evening at a champagne and cupcakereception at the Revolution bar in the spa town.

Local photographer Javan Liam took the shots of the women vacuuming, ironing, baking and doing the laundry, and 1,000 calendars have now been printed for sale at 9.95 each.

Miss Kirkpatrick, 26, who has a one-year-old daughter, Gracie, and lives in Harrogate, said: "This calendar is very close to the hearts of all involved and losing Danny has made it even more poignant for us.

"This calendar is arty and sophisticated, but also fun. We have loved making it, but most importantly it has been created to raise funds for such an incredibly important cause."
