CCTV appeal in hunt for church organist killers
DETECTIVES hunting the killers of a church organist in Sheffield have released CCTV footage showing two men wanted in relation to the Christmas Eve murder.
Officers appealed for help to identify two men captured on the video close to the scene of where Alan Greaves, 68, was attacked.
Mr Greaves was savagely beaten as he walked to midnight mass at St Saviour’s Church in High Green, and suffered severe head injuries. He died on Thursday, December 27, but at a Press conference yesterday, senior detectives admitted they were still struggling to find a motive for the killing.
Det Supt Matt Fenwick said: “There is nothing within his past or within his family life that would lead to a man like him being attacked.”
