CCTV reveals suspect who robbed cancer sufferer at knifepoint in Leeds

The 17-year-old victim was attacked and robbed at knifepoint at around 5pm on Monday, March 7, as he walked down a ginnel between Dixon Lane and Henry Avenue in Wortley.

A gold-coloured iPhone 6 that had been given to him by a children’s cancer charity was stolen.

The suspect, who was described as white, aged 19 to 20, slim, around 5ft 11ins tall, with a spotty complexion and a scruffy beard, rode off on a black mountain bike along Henry Avenue towards Kellet Road.

He was wearing a black hooded coat, black tracksuit bottoms and had a black drawstring bag with a white Newcastle United logo.

Detective constable Grant Lee, of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “As a result of our earlier appeal, we have recovered CCTV footage that shows the suspect riding off after the incident.

“Clearly the image is taken from some distance away and the suspect is not immediately identifiable but we hope it could help to jog someone’s memory.”

“We have received a good response to the appeal and ask that people continue to contact us if they think they know who may have been responsible.”
