A range of activities will be on offer throughout the afternoon including guided tours (at 12.30 and 1.45), children’s events and a slide show.

There will also be information about searching for ancestors and a cafe.

Undercliffe Cemetery is registered by English Heritage as a Grade II* site in their Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest.

The cemetery is regarded as of exceptional historic interest and a noted authority on heritage cemeteries, Dr Julian Litten, said: “Undercliffe Cemetery is the zenith of England’s cemeteries... it is an enigmatic place and it does fill one with the awe that you would expect a Victorian cemetery to fill you with.”
