Charity fundraisers set out to help hospital

AN OFFICIAL launch took place in Sheffield yesterday to mark the start of The Children’s Hospital Charity’s biggest fundraising campaign.

The “Make It Better” campaign has a target of raising £20m towards the hospital’s £40m transformation, which will include replacing some existing wards and creating more single rooms to give families “space, privacy and dignity.”

Charity director David Vernon-Edwards said: “When my daughter was rushed to hospital the care we received was amazing. They saved her life.

“I know that what families need now is a world-class environment that matches the world-class care they expect at our hospital.”

A dedicated website – www.make-it-better.org.uk – was also due to become live yesterday.
