Charity is knocked out by visit from Amir
The two-time world light welterweight boxing champion brought his team from the Amir Khan Foundation – set up in August last year – to learn about the needs of clients from the charity, which helps homeless and disadvantaged people in the city and across West Yorkshire.
His foundation aims to support deprived and disadvantaged children and young people nationally and internationally. During their visit, Amir and his team served curry and rice to over 80 visitors to the crypt and chatted to the clients to learn more about the charity’s work. Amir took to Twitter afterwards to write: “In Leeds feeding the homeless at St George’s Crypt. Amazing meeting them...@AKFoundation giving them hope.”
