Children's commissioner to give talk

She will be the keynote speaker at the second Calderdale Challenge Annual Conference, to be held at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield.

Following her address, she will listen to children and young people from across Calderdale.

Teachers, social workers and other childcare professionals will attend the event, which will outline the work of Calderdale Challenge which campaigns on behalf of the Calderdale Children's Trust.

The Trust supports childcare professionals to work together more effectively.

The conference will also hear from Patrick Ottley-O'Connor, head of Todmorden High School, about how the Calderdale Challenge is working in the town.

The Calderdale Signing Choir, the Brooksbank School Sports College's Rock School, Rhythm Sticks, from Sowerby Bridge Village CE (VC) Primary School, and The Music Crew, from Ravenscliffe High School were also due to attend the conference to perform.
