Christmas auction: More of Yorkshire’s most exclusive gifts

There is a trip to Emmerdale studios, VIP tickets for the Strictly Come Dancing tour or a visit to the World of James Herriot and the chance to meet “The Yorkshire Vet” Julian Norton up for grabs.

There is also a selection of goodies from Countdown, including a ‘75’ tile signed by Nick Hewer, Rachel Riley and Susie Dent.

For foodies, there is a private dining experience for 10 people at the Punch Bowl Inn in the North Yorkshire village of Marton-cum-Grafton.

This superb lot, thanks to Provenance Inns & Hotels, includes champagne on arrival and a fantastic five-course menu at this beautiful and historic country pub in the heart of North Yorkshire.

Or if you have a sweet tooth, you might prefer a selection of ice creams for that special occasion from R&R Ice Cream.

For those who like a life of luxury, there are tickets for a London West End premiere of a top Hollywood movie or a VIP match day experience at Sheffield United. Or you could enjoy a family trip to the Great Yorkshire Show.

But there is also much more - you could even have your own message on a Welcome to Yorkshire sign.

The operations director at media specialist Community Partners, Richard Eccles, said: “We’re delighted to support the auction by offering this unique prize.

“This is your chance to create a sign featuring your company’s name and message, which we will install at a busy gateway to Leeds for six months. These signs are seen by an average of 200,000 people per month.”

This year’s Christmas charity auction is in aid of Support Dogs who provide specialist dogs for people with a range of disabilities.

We are hoping to raise enough money to fund the training of a support dog for a Yorkshire family - which costs around £18,000.

We can’t raise this money without your help - so get bidding and help change lives.

The difference these dogs can make is truly amazing. We have already told how one, Azerley, an autism assistance dog who has been living with the Hadfield family in South Yorkshire, has transformed their lives.

Before the dog came to live with the family in Kilnhurst, seven-year-old Cohen lived in his own world, did not speak, was anxious and unable to even make eye contact with those around him.

Since Azerley joined the family, Cohen has learnt to play and uses his imagination, his confidence has grown, and perhaps the biggest change of all, he has began to speak and interact.

The Yorkshire Post managing editor Nicola Furbisher said: “There are some great lots in this year’s auction so start bidding and help raise money for this really worthwhile cause. Having a support dog can make a huge difference to someone’s life.”

Other lots so far announced include the chance to have a luxury fine-dining experience at Bibi’s restaurant in Leeds city centre and to be The Yorkshire Post Business Editor for the day, stepping in to the shoes of Bernard Ginns.

A further round of lots is to be announced on Saturday next weekend.

Last year’s appeal aided Yorkshire’s lifeboat crews, with the generosity of The Yorkshire Post’s readers raising £17,000 for Scarborough’s RNLI.
