Cinema in cash award

A RURAL cinema in North Yorkshire is benefiting from an £8,000 cash injection.

The company which took over management of the Northallerton’s Hambleton Forum on August 1 has been awarded funding from Creative England’s film culture fund.

The grant will help it develop the cinema including showing a wider range of films.

David Allan, chair of The Forum (Northallerton) Ltd’s board, said: “We really want to develop the services offered at the Forum. Cinema is a key part of the offer – the community are really supporting the cinema so it’s important that we respond to this as try to develop it further. It will take time but we see it as vital.”
