City Park to rock and roll in aerial show

ROCK music combined with acrobatics and special effects will create a Christmas lights switch-on with a difference in Bradford on Saturday.

City council chiefs are promising an “extraordinary aerial rock show” in City Park featuring British rock band Duchamp Pilot and Argentine aerial acrobats Voalá.

Twelve spinning acrobats will swoop down on the audience and sprinkle confetti and streamers from a giant mobile suspended 100 feet above City Park.

The fun begins at 12pm on Saturday, November 16 with Christmas themed street theatre.

The lights switch-on show, called Mauré, starts at 5pm. It is the brainchild of Argentines Roberto Strada and Gaston Iungman and has been performed in Montreal, Stockholm and Paris.

The performance features lighting and pyrotechnic effects.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, portfolio holder for culture, said: “I urge everyone to come down to City Park and make the most of this wonderful performance.”
