Community order for Olympic toilet spy
Sentencing Declan Crosbie at Leeds Crown Court yesterday, the Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier, said he was satisfied such a programme was in the long term interest of protecting the public and there was no guarantee that he would receive that in jail.
“The Probation Service tells me they are confident they can work with you to significantly reduce the risk of offending and the risk you pose to others in the community.”

Hide AdCrosbie was caught peering over the top of cubicles as members of the Chinese swimming team were getting changed for training at the Edge Centre at Leeds University prior to the Olympics.
When staff went to investigate he answered in a woman’s voice and begged staff not to report him when he finally emerged. He then broke free from a security officer and escaped after being told the police would be called but later handed himself in.
The court heard that Crosbie has previous convictions for voyeurism in 2005 and 2006 and was jailed for three years in 2009 after trespassing in a private home and being found standing over a sleeping student whose trousers had been pulled down.
The judge said he had imposed that lengthy sentence in anticipation Crosbie would receive treatment on a sex offender programme but he never received a place.
