Coup as Savoy firm signed up to revamp hotel

A FIRM which helped renovate The Savoy in London has been signed up to design the interior of a luxury hotel on the Yorkshire coast.

The lavish interiors of the Raithwaite Hall Country Retreat will be supplied by DEPA UK Limited, which provided the furniture and fittings for the world-famous hotel in the capital.

The Skelwith Group, which owns Raithwaite Hall between Whitby and Sandsend, has appointed the company to deck out the inside of the hotel before it opens in the autumn. DEPA has also furnished some of the most exclusive hotels in the world, including the Burj Al Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, in Dubai

The Skelwith Group’s managing director, Paul Ellis, said: “This is the last piece of the jigsaw to ensure Raithwaite is an international destination.

“The appointment of DEPA is a major coup for both the hotel and indeed the area as it will bring a new level of opulence to the region.”

The Skelwith Group is also in talks with DEPA to perform a similar role for its £100m Flaxby Country Resort development, between York and Harrogate. Work is due to start shortly on the scheme.
