Crash causes M-way delays

DRIVERS faced lengthy delays yesterday after a two-vehicle crash led to the closure of the southbound carriageway of the M18 near Rotherham.

Four people were injured when a Citroen Xsara Picasso and a van collided just after junction one at Bramley.

Police said the Citroen flipped onto its roof and the driver, believed to be a woman, had to be cut free. None of the injuries is thought to be life-threatening.

The carriageway was closed for several hours from just after 12.30.

Traffic was also affected on the northbound carriageway as drivers slowed down to look.
