Bogus police raid Leeds pensioner’s home

WEST Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for witnesses after three suspects broke into a 90-year-old woman’s house in Leeds while posing as police officers.

The incident took place on Tuesday at the property on Longroyd Street North in Beeston.

The three men entered the house by forcing the front door open. They were wearing dark-coloured stab vests with ‘police’ written on them.

After searching the property, the men returned to a red VW Golf which then headed towards Dewsbury Road.

The three suspects are thought to be in their 20s and are slim. Two of them are white, while the other is described as having a darker complexion.

Although not injured, the victim was shocked by the incident and is being cared for by family members.
