Bradford gang members tortured man and dumped his naked body in the street

Three men who stamped and urinated on a man before wrapping his naked body in a shower curtain and dumping it in a street have been convicted of murder.

Gang members Robert Wainwright, Raheel Khan and Suleman Khan tortured and murdered Mohammed Feazan Ayaz at an industrial unit in Bradford.

A fourth man, Shaoib Shafiq, 20, and a 17-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, were also found guilty of assisting an offender earlier today (Tuesday).

A court heard during a trial how the trio murdered Mr Ayaz in June last year, after the victim 'taunted' Raheel Khan over mobile phone footage he was shown of the defendant having sex.

Mr Ayaz had spent the evening of June 30 with two friends driving around Bradford, buying cannabis and drinking whiskey.

Raheel Khan called the victim that evening asking for cannabis, and so Mr Ayaz was dropped off by his friends at the industrial unit to meet him and deliver the drug.

But after being lured to the building, Mr Ayaz was subjected to unspeakable violence from the three men, who kicked and stamped on his head, urinated on him and inflicted multiple force blows to his head and lacerations to his body.

A post-mortem examination of the victim found 70 separate injuries to his body, with his main cause of death being a head injury from the accumulation of blows.

After killing Mr Ayaz, the three wrapped him in a shower curtain and left it on Saffron Drive in the Allerton area of Bradford.

Wainwright, 26, on Mannville Terrace, Raheel Khan, 27, and Suleman Khan, 20, of Sandford Road, were found guilty by a jury at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday.

All three men will be sentenced tomorrow (Wednesday), along with Shafiq, of Gladstone Street. The 17-year-old youth will be sentenced at a later date.

Following the conviction, Michael Quinn from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “This was a prolonged and utterly brutal attack on an entirely defenceless victim.

“Over the course of several hours, he was systematically and sadistically beaten to death on a concrete floor. He was stripped naked by his captors, he was tortured and humiliated, and he was beaten for the entertainment of those present.

“On several occasions they used their mobile telephones to film him in his torment, capturing even a moment in which he begged them to just let him die.

“We worked closely with West Yorkshire Police to build a robust prosecution case, which included the examination of many hours of CCTV footage and analysis of mobile phone footage.

“The defendants have now been found guilty and will be sentenced tomorrow. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends, as they have been throughout.”

A statement released by Mr Ayaz's family read: “This outcome has brought our family some closure to what has been a terrible few months for us.

“Feazan thought he was going to Denholme that day to spend some time with people who he considered to be his friends. We don’t believe that he could have possibly known what was to come.

“His death has left a hole in our family and to know his life was taken in such callous and brutal circumstances is even more upsetting.

“We would like to thank West Yorkshire Police for the support they have given us throughout the investigation and also the jury, whose verdicts have helped us to get justice for Feazan.”
