Police in York have charged a man after a bus window was smashed while passengers were on board.

The York First Bus service was travelling over Ouse Bridge on December 20 when a passing cyclist reportedly punched a window and smashed it.

North Yorkshire Police last week issued a CCTV image of a man they wanted to trace.

In an update today, a spokesman said: "Following the appeal, a man has been identified and charged in connection with the incident.

"Thank you to all those who shared our appeal."
