Conmen sell fake iPhones for £280

a restaurant owner was duped out of hundreds of pounds after two conmen swapped the iPhones he had just bought for dummies.

The owner of an Indian restaurant on Castle Road in Scarborough agreed to buy two iPhone 5s devices on January 23.

After checking to ensure both phones were working he handed over £280, but the sellers swapped the phones for dummies while he was counting the money. Police have warned people to be on their guard against cold callers.
