Crash causes commuter traffic chaos in Sheffield

TWO MAJOR routes in Sheffield city centre were closed this morning after a collision.

The incident at the junction of Derek Dooley Way and The Wicker at around 6.20am caused both roads to be closed.

The Wicker remains closed into rush hour, with traffic backing up on Derek Dooley Way and the Parkway.

South Yorkshire Police are advising motorists the avoid the area.

Other traffic and travel issues this Tuesday:

North Yorkshire, 7am; One lane was closed and slow traffic on A1 northbound in Catterick between Catterick North and Scotch Corner, because of a broken down vehicle.
