Distraught parents make heartfelt plea to missing student: ‘Please come home’

Parents of a student from Leeds have made an emotional appeal for his safe return after his mystery disappearance a month ago.

Relatives and police remain baffled as to why 21-year-old Aamir Qudeer, from Moortown, went missing without trace on February 26.

His distraught mother and father, Zatoon and Abdul Qudeer, of Scott Hall Road, say his disappearance is completely out of character.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Mrs Qudeer made a direct appeal to her son. She said: “We don’t know the reason why you left and disappeared as you did, but whatever it is we can sort it out as a family. Please come home, your dad and your sisters and I miss you.”

Aamir got on a train from Leeds to Liverpool on the afternoon of February 26. The last sighting of him on CCTV was at about 7pm that evening.

He had missed lectures shortly before his disappearance, but there were no other signs that he was unhappy or in trouble.

Investigating officer Det Insp Neil Benstead said there was no evidence he had come to harm but added: “We are incredibly concerned about Aamir.

“His disappearance is completely out of character – he’s part of a very close family.”
