Emergency services scrambled to reports of man in the river Hull

Emergency services are searching the rivers Hull and Humber after reports of a man going into the water on Monday morning

The coastguard has been combing the Humber foreshore near the Deep aquarium, and coastguard teams and the inshore lifeboat Humber Rescue has also been called out.

Humber Coastguard said: "We were called by the ambulance service to assist with a possible person in the river Hull at 11.30am."

A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: “Emergency services are in attendance at North Bridge in Hull following a call at 11.30am reporting that a man has entered the water.

“Anyone with information about this incident can call us on 101 quoting log 208, March 10, 2020."

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service has also been on the scene since 11.30am on Tuesday morning.

A spokesman said they had searched the are between North Bridge and the Deep and not found anybody.

The Bransholme Station boat has also launched to help the search.
