Ex-lover of disgraced pop star Ian Watkins denies child sex charges

A FORMER lover of paedophile Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has denied encouraging the jailed rock star to send her indecent images of children.

Joanne Mjadzelics, from Doncaster, appeared via video link at Cardiff Magistrates Court where she pleaded not guilty to seven sexual offences.

Four relate to the 38-year-old defendant being in possession of an indecent photograph of a child.

And as well as two charges of distributing child pornography, the court heard Mjadzelics is also charged with encouraging Watkins to send her illegal images.

Disgraced rock singer Watkins is currently serving a 35-year prison term for a string of child sex offences.

The charges against of Mjadzelics relate to a period between May and September 2011.

The defendant spoke only to confirm her name age and address before denying the offences.

Mjadzelics, who was granted bail, was told to appear at Cardiff Crown Court on April 7.
