Man brutally beaten after asking youths to stop throwing snowballs in Huddersfield

A GANG of youths launched a brutal attack on a man after he asked them to stop throwing snowballs at customers leaving a bar in the Golcar area of Huddersfield.

Police said the group of around seven youths, believed to be aged between 15 and 17, left the man with “terrible” injuries after surrounding him and dragging him to the floor outside the Duck and Spoon bar on Town End Street, Golcar, at around 6.30pm on Sunday January 17.

They kicked him in the head and body before running off into the centre of Golcar.

The assault left the victim with a broken nose and bruising to his head.

Police said the assault happened after the man went to speak to the group of youths who had been throwing snowballs at customers leaving the bar.

PC Dave Hall of West Yorkshire Police, said: “This attack took place right outside the Duck and Spoon bar in Golcar with the victim left with terrible injuries.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who was at the bar that evening or in the immediate area at the time of the assault to get in touch to assist us with our enquiries.”
