Man held in double murder probe

A double murder inquiry has been launched after the bodies of a man and a woman were found at a house in Solihull early on Monday.

West Midlands Police said officers had arrested a man following the deaths.

Police were called to reports of an attack inside the house in Hermitage Road at 5.15am and the scene has been sealed off for forensic inquiries to be carried out.

Detective Inspector Martin Slevin, who is leading the investigation, said: “The inquiry is in its early stages but police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths at this stage.”

The man under arrest is understood to be related to those who were found dead at the semi-detached house.

Hermitage Road has been sealed off and scenes-of-crime specialists wearing white forensic suits have put up a blue tent at the front of the house.
