It is understood Ms Valente’s injuries were consistent with a collision with a vehicle.

In a tribute issued through Cumbria Constabulary, her family said: “Rose was a loving and doting mother and nanna. She was loved and will be greatly missed by the family and her friends.”

Police were called to Black Bull Lane off High Street just before 8am.

The area near to farm buildings was cordoned off for examination and house-to-house inquiries were conducted.
