Men arrested as murder investigation is launched into 22-year-old’s death in Huddersfield

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a 22-year-old man suffered fatal injuries during a disturbance in Huddersfield.

Police were called to Elmfield Avenue at 2am today.

A 22-year old man had been injured and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he died as a result of injuries sustained.

A murder enquiry was launched and two men aged 23 and 34 and a 17-year-old youth have now been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Superintendent Mark Ridley of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who is leading the enquiry, said: “Active enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the disturbance or anyone who has any information relating to the incident to contact the police.”

“Anyone who has information should contact Huddersfield Police on 101 referencing log 225 of the 23rd or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
