Moped riders fire shots at car in Sheffield

A POLICE appeal has been launched after shots were fired at a car in a 'targeted attack' in Sheffield last night.

At about 9pm on Wednesday, police were called to City Road, close to the junction with Eastern Avenue, after reports that shots had been fired at a silver car.

Police believe two moped riders fired shots at the car.

Detective Sergeant John Yoxall, said: “Resources were immediately sent to the area to establish the full circumstances of the incident and this remains a priority for our team.

“While I understand incidents like this are worrying, we believe the people involved are known to each other and that this was a targeted attack.

“Officers currently remain in the area carrying out enquiries and providing reassurance to members of the community.”

No-one was injured in the incident.
