Murder arrest after man found seriously injured in Sheffield street dies in hospital

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Sheffield.

Police were called to Club Garden Road in the road Highfield Road area of the city at around 2.15am this morning (Nov 15) following reports of a man lying in the street.

On arrival they found a 28-year-old man with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

Officers are still at the scene carrying out investigations, and a cordon is expected to remain in place for large amounts of the day.

Formal identification and a post-mortem is expected to take place later today.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 99 of November 15.
