Mystery of man found injured next to bicycle

A 65-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found lying in the street near to a bicycle.

He was found unconscious with an apparent head injury after police were called to Neepsend Lane, Sheffield, at 6.30am yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police say he was taken to hospital where his condition is described as life threatening. A spokeswoman said the man “was found laid in the street with a bicycle close by”.

Officers are now investigating to find out what happened to the man and several roads were cordoned off in the area while enquires were carried out,
