The owner who lives on Hartley Brook Road has two dogs and they don’t appear to have eaten any. But police are warning other dog owners to be cautious.

The chews had blue pellets pushed inside them, which officers believe could be poisonous.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers would like to hear from anyone who may hold information about this incident and would advise dog owners to be vigilant about any suspicious pellets or chews.”
