Police make arrest over death of a man in South Yorkshire

A further arrest has been made over the death of a Barnsley man.

Detectives investigating the death of Barnsley man Richard Broughton arrested a 25-year-old man last night (Friday May 5) on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in police custody.

Mr Broughton, aged 37, was reportedly involved in an altercation in Welland Crescent, Elsecar, on Friday April 28. He died in hospital two days later on Sunday 30 April.

A post mortem examination concluded that the cause of death was multiple injuries.
