Police probe teenager’s Bonfire Night stabbing

A police investigation was underway today after a teenage boy was stabbed in Leeds at the height of West Yorkshire’s Bonfire Night celebrations.

The 16-year-old, from the Bradford area, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment after the incident, which happened in Drighlington.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were called to Bradford Road, close to the entrance to the Manor Golf Club, shortly after 9pm yesterday.

No details were available today on the boy’s condition, although his injuries were initially not thought to be life-threatening.

Reports on social media said the victim had earlier attended a bonfire in a field next to Drighlington’s Six Acres pub.
