Police vehicles in two collisions

A MOTORCYCLIST and two pensioners were hurt in accidents involving police cars that happened within minutes of each other on the same road in Sheffield.

At 10.47am on Friday, October 5, a white Ford Mondeo marked police car was en-route to an incident when it was in collision with a white Yamaha YZF motorcycle in Penistone Road, near the junction of Neepsend lane.

The 33-year-old rider was thrown off and suffered a broken right collar bone and right index finger and concussion.

At 11.10am, two pensioners were injured, one seriously, when their white Peugeot 106 was in collision with a Ford Focus police car travelling against a red light while responding to an incident in Penistone Road. Both vehicles then struck the central reservation.
