Police warning to Doncaster schools as pervert targets ‘very young girls’ for fifth time in weeks

Police in Doncaster are warning all the schools in the area after a pervert struck in the latest of a string of indecent assaults on schoolgirls as they walked home.

have released a CCTV image in connection to the assaults, and issued an urgent witness re-appeal, after reports of a fifth incident in a matter of weeks.

The latest assault happened at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, June 12, when an 11-year-old girl was walking towards Ashfield Court and was allegedly approached by a man who made comments and tried to hug and kiss her. She was able to push him away and run home.

The man is described as white with a sun tan, brown hair which is gelled and combed back, 5ft 11in tall and in his 30s. He has a chubby belly and black in his teeth. He was wearing jeans, black shoes and a burgundy T-shirt and spoke with an English accent.

Police said a letter will be going to go to all of the schools in Doncaster to make parents aware.

Superintendent Peter Norman said: “If anyone knows the identity of the man, we would encourage them to come forward and contact the police. These crimes are of an exceptionally serious nature that he is targeting very young girls.”

At around 5.30pm on Monday, April 15, a 14-year-old girl was walking home from school along Cromer Road, Intake, when a man asked her for directions. It is alleged the man touched her chest inappropriately before running off.

Just two days later at around 3pm, a 12-year-old girl was walking home from school with a friend and took a shortcut through Clayfields Industrial Estate when she was assaulted in a similar way.

The following day, at around 5.45pm, a 12-year-old girl was with a group of friends on Montrose Avenue when she was also assaulted. And on Monday, June 3, at around 3.15pm, a 13-year-old girl reported she was walking through Gliwice Way estate with friends when a man approached from behind and touched her chest.
