Robbers attacked boy and girl in Rotherham park

A ROBBERY gang who attacked a teenage girl and boy in a Rotherham park are being hunted by police.

South Yorkshire Police have issued e-fit images of two men in connection with the incident at Clifton Park.

A boy and a girl, both aged 16, were at the park at around when they were approached by four men, who were described as being Eastern European in appearance.

One of the men demanded money and allegedly hit the boy to the head when he refused to hand over cash.

The men then took his black Nikon Coolpix camera from his rucksack as well as a pencil case, which was later found close by.

One of the men approached the girl and tried to take her mobile phone, and was hit to the head.

The suspects fled in the direction of Clifton Park Museum.

The girl suffered a bump to the head, while the boy had a swollen eye and a cut to the head.

The incident happened at 6pm on Saturday 21 May, but police only released details today.

Police have been working with the victims to produce the e-fit images of two men officers believe have vital information about what happened.

They are aged between 16 and 19-years-old, around 5ft 4in tall, and wore dark tracksuits and peak caps.
