Second man due in court charged with murder of Sidney Cox

A man is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today after being charged overnight with the murder of Sidney Cox.

John Edwards Nicholson, 24, of Little Lane, Doncaster, was arrested in South Yorkshire on Tuesday.

He has also been charged with assault, possession of a bladed article, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

Mr Cox died the day after being seriously injured in a violent attack at an address in Middleton Lane, in Thorpe, Leeds, on Saturday, August 24.

Another man, Michael Valance Dear, 39, of Norton Common Road, Askern, Doncaster, has already appeared in court charged with murder.
