Sheffield man charged with murder of mother and daughter at house in Shirebrook

A SHEFFIELD man has been charged with the murder of a mother and her daughter whose bodies were found at a house near Chesterfield.

Police and paramedics were called to the property in Station Road in Shirebrook, shortly after 10pm on Friday.

The body of Julie Hill, 51, who lived at the address, was found along with that of her mother Rose Hill, 75, of Sheffield.

Christopher Whelan, 20, of Dransfield Road, Sheffield, is due before magistrates in Chesterfield this morning charged with their murders.

Derbyshire Police said Julie Hill’s dog, which is believed to be a terrier, is missing from the house.
