Sheffield woman, 31, in court on terror charges

A 31-YEAR-OLD Sheffield woman was appearing in court today charged with terrorism offences.

Zafreen Khadam was appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London this afternoon, accused of the dissemination of terrorist publications.

Khadam was arrested by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) in March this year.

A North East CTU spokesman said Khadam is charged with 10 offences contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The spokesman added: “This investigation was intelligence-led and there is no evidence to suggest that any communities were, or are, at immediate risk in connection with this operation.”
