South Yorkshire: Man denies researching bomb details

A 26-year-old man today denied researching how to make a bomb when he appeared at the Old Bailey.

Nicholas Roddis, of Maltby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, pleaded not guilty to one charge of engaging in the preparation of an improvised explosive device.

The offence was said to have taken place between January and November last year.

Roddis is alleged to have researched ingredients, equipment and sources using a computer at a local library.

Roddis was arrested by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit in March.

He appeared in court by videolink from Wakefield Prison and was remanded in custody for trial at Woolwich Crown Court, south London, on January 14.
