South Yorkshire Police investigating after images shared online of alleged neglect in Barnsley care home
South Yorkshire Police confirmed it was investigating after concerning images taken at a home in Barnsley were shared and circulated online.
Details of the content of those images have not been released, and the force has not revealed the care home involved.

Hide AdTwo women who are carers from Barnsley were arrested yesterday (Monday) on suspicion of ill-treatment and willful neglect, the force said. Both have been released under investigation.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has also been notified of the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Etheridge, investigating, said “Two carers have been arrested after images were circulated online showing apparent neglect in a Barnsley care home.
“The women, both from Barnsley, were arrested yesterday after police were alerted to the images posted on social media.

Hide Ad“An investigation is now underway and we are working closely with the care home as part of our inquiry.
“The women were arrested on suspicion of ill-treatment or wilful neglect by a care worker and have now been released under investigation.
“Families of residents at the care home have been informed and are being kept up to date with progress.
“The Nursing Home have cooperated with South Yorkshire Police in relation to this and the workers have been suspended from work.
“Adult Social Care have been made aware and the CQC have been notified.”
