Teenager in court over Jamie Stuart murder in Sheffield

A TEENAGER charged with the murder of a man found lying on a pavement with stab wounds in Sheffield at the weekend has been remanded in custody.

Jamie Stuart, 19, was found by a member of the public in Holgate Avenue, Parson Cross, in the early hours of Saturday.

Danny Robert Parr, 19, of Broom Close, Rotherham, has appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court charged with murder.

Parr was remanded in custody and will appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 1.

Detectives said Mr Stuart, of Orchard Close, Ecclesfield, died at the Northern General Hospital of stab wounds.

They believe Mr Stuart may have attended a function at the White Horse pub in Halifax Road on Friday night before leaving at 11pm.

The victim is thought to have been making his way home towards the Ecclesfield area when he was attacked.
